Is is ok to do regular water aerobics when pregnant and not prenatal water aerobics?

Can you answer funnygirl5236’s question about Exercise?:

I am 6 weeks pregnant and I want to know if it is safe to do the regular and deep water auqaerobics instead of the prenatal water aerobics? I did both classes and I get a much better workout in the regular class. Is this too much? Should I stick with just the prenatal classes?

I have gained weight over the years and finally decided to hit back to the gym. I am looking for a routine either circuit training, free weights or a combo of both to get the best workout.
